Red is a fundamental element in Josep Grau-Garriga's work. Since the beginning of his career, this color has functioned as a symbolic and compositional axis around which the artist from Sant Cugat has based his work. For the artist, this color allowed him to talk about politics, but also about himself, about art and to reflect on his surroundings.
The exhibition presents an accurate selection of twenty-five textile works from the 70's and 80's and some unpublished works such as: paintings on paper by the artist Josep Grau-Garriga and audiovisual material shown for the first time.
This exhibition has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the artist's family, who preserved his arrival, the Museum of Montserrat, the Vila Casas Foundation, the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Museum of History of the City of Girona, as well as the collectors: Joan Mateos (friend of the artist), Cecilia Melian (Cadis) and Nathalie Aureglia (Monaco).
