Fabrice Hyber is first and foremost a playful experimenter! When he is not in his Parisian studio, in Pantin, it is in Mareuil-sur-Lay that he draws, models, prunes, surveying his vegetal domain in rubber boots and a firecracker green down jacket. The organic world, plants and trees have always fascinated this son of farmers, attached to his roots.
An unclassifiable artist, he often conceives his paintings as a sort of "storyboard" where he pastes notes, sketches, annotations and drawings. "I don't define myself as an ecological artist, but rather as an eco-responsible artist," says Fabrice Hyber.
Twenty years after being awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale, ''the surveyor of hypotheses'' was elected in 2018 to the Academy of Fine Arts.
