Flammarion Editions, Galerie Nathalie Obadia and the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap) invite you to the launch of the monograph dedicated to Sarkis, on Thursday 28 October 2021 at 6 pm, in the presence of the artist and the author, at the Galerie Nathalie Obadia.
This monograph is published as part of the collection "Nouvelle création contemporaine" co-published by the Centre national des arts plastiques and Flammarion Editions.
As long as his work has been taking shape, Sarkis has been photographing it, in his studios and exhibitions. This uninterrupted practice composes a vast visual archive whose singularity lies in the plurality of its destinations, combining the documentary function with a properly artistic dimension.
This book proposes to explore the artist's production through the photographer's images, unfolding in a succession of sequences some of the major questions that this work reformulates throughout more than fifty years of creation.
