The Musées de Marseille are renewing their invitations to some of the most important artists on the international scene to imagine new works, in close connection with the history and architecture of the chapel at the Centre de la Vieille Charité.
Laure Prouvost will deploy a monumental installation that she sees as a maternal and fertile figure, also summoning the memories of those who, over the last three centuries, have inhabited and brought to life this space and the Panier district. A dreamlike, underwater-influenced surprise, shimmering with aquatic reflections, that will involve audience participation.
Echoing this project, and starting in June 2025, the [mac] Musée d'art contemporain de Marseille will present Laure Prouvost's film “Deep See Blue Surrounding You / Vois Ce Bleu Profond Te Fondre” in the [mac]room, presented at the Venice Biennale in 2019 and incorporated into the municipal collections.
