Jérôme Zonder's graphic work is virtuoso and multi-faceted, in tune with his eye fed as much by the infinite flow of popular culture (comics, cinema, press, television and social networks) as by the great figures of Western art history. From this ocean of iconography and style, the artist fishes out shapes, figures and rhythms. His drawing is 'extended', not confined to the traditional boundaries of the sheet.

For the mahJ, Jérôme Zonder has devised an installation that unfolds on the floor and walls of the contemporary gallery. Visitors are invited to wander inside the work itself, a vast game board to be explored square by square, before being locked in an endless cycle among the images.

Jérôme Zonder graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2001, and for over twenty years has been developing a body of work centred on the constantly reinvented practice of drawing. His work has been the subject of acclaimed solo exhibitions such as "Fatum" at the Maison Rouge in 2015, "The Dancing Room" at the Tinguely Museum in Basel in 2017, and more recently "Joyeuse Apocalypse!" at the Casino Luxembourg in 2023.

Jérôme Zonder has been represented by Galerie Nathalie Obadia Paris/Bruxelles since 2016.
